From January 25th to February 1st, students from the Bilingual Programme, Bachillerato groups and two teachers from the English Department, Loli and Antonio, travelled to Bergen (Norway) in response to the exchange done by nineteen Norwegian students and two teachers in October, the year before, 2016.

The goal for twenty-three people from ISAAC PERAL SECONDARY SCHOOL was to broaden their minds knowing different cultures to ours as well as practising their level of spoken English.

Some students have written their opinion about the exchange:

Alejandro Egea, CSE 4th year: "This trip has been the best one I have ever done in my life. I have travelled to many cities and countries, but no one like Bergen. I suppose it is because I have gone there with my friends, but I have come back with many more. I ate new things like brown cheese and reinder meat. Definitely, it has been a great travel and I will go there again".

Antonio Alamo, CSE 4th year: "I liked everything I saw: museums, landscape,… I want to have the same high school as they have".

Victoria Taher, CSE 4th year: "The trip was very fun and we liked it so much. The high-school was so cool and big, we could even get lost there; it had five floors, I think. There was everything that you wanted to have: swimming pool, ping-pong tables, café, gym, library, …. We went to a place called Vilvite, where you could do a lot of activities and play games. We also went to Bryggen where the Hanseatic Museum is. Another day we went to Voss and to Fjellfestning (do not try to pronounce it, because you will not be able to do it, believe me!). We visited some museums as well. All of it was fun, but the Norwegian girl, who I was living with, lived on top of a mountain and we had to walk up to go home every day, even when it was snowing, so we felt really tired. I recommend you to go there because you will have a lot of fun and a new experience in another country. You will not regret it!

Clara Herrero, Bachillerato 1st year: "Apart from the High School activities, our Norwegian patners showed us their customs too: they take their shoes off before going into a house, they eat "tacos" every Friday and they walk so fast!!! We ate a lot of typical meals such as salmon or fishcakes, yummy! They planned activities for us to hang out with other Spanish people: skiing in frozen hills, shopping centers, eating waffles, going fishing. We learnt a lot of English considering that everyone spoke in Norwegian and we needed to communicate with them, they even took us to the cinema in English. The funniest experience was when they took us to a Spanish lesson and everyone was trying to speak like us! In conclusion, the trip was incredible, it was so cold but everyone was fascinated with the Norwegian customs and they treated us so well that every child cried at the airport when we had to say goodbye".

Carlos Amador, Bachillerato 2nd year: "At first I thought going to Norway on my own without knowing anyone from my classroom was going to be boring, but things changed when I met the Norwegian people who got me charmed by their friendliness. The best part of the exchange was being there, at the Amalie Skram Skole, where everybody would talk to you just for being from Spain. Without no doubt, an unforgettable experience which I am willing to repeat one day".
